Get Involved During Camp
Columbia Gorge Peace Village Day Camp is an incredible week. Folks of all ages come together to live and work towards a peaceful and sustainable community. Community members, teens, parents, and grandparents all volunteer -- making camp a multi-generational event.
Each year campers participate in community service projects during camp. To model and mentor community service, while strengthening Peace Village ties among families, we ask that each family contribute a minimum of four hours of Adult Community Service to Peace Village.
The adult service is meant to enhance the Peace Village community experience for families, not to act as a barrier to participation We understand that each family has a unique situation and summer schedule. Please do not let service commitment or cost prevent your family from being a part of Peace Village.
What? Each family will have one or more adults donate a minimum of 4 hours of time before, during or after camp.
Before camp opportunities:
Planning Teams, Picking or gathering Food, Pre-camp food prep parties, Specific Tasks
During camp opportunities:
Volunteers are needed each day at camp for food prep and as activity helpers
Background checks are required if the adult is volunteering during the camp day
Who? A parent or other adult. Who is up to you.
Why? To increase the Peace Village community by including more family members. To model and mentor service to our kids. To include the grown-ups in the Peace Village fun.
